Wiccan Way
And ye shall say these words...
I will love and harm none.
I will live, love, die, and live again.
I will meet, remember, know,
and embrace once more.
For the free will of ALL, And with harm to None
As I will
It now is done
So mote it be!

The Wiccan path is one that is choosen by the individual, no one can tell you "It's time to go to ritual". You must decide for yourself if this is a path for you. Wicca is a difficult path and can be spiritually fulfilling.
It was my teachings and my belief that we take all books, and tarot readings with a grain of salt. One should not have to buy a library to learn things. They can help us grow and give us a stepping stone when needed. It is my opinion that herbs, oils, candles, tarot, and books are meant as a learning tool.
"Do not get hooked on your tools; they are not indispensable. You can build a circle and work spells without them."
"Why do you need a knife for when you have fingers?"

Tools such as books, oils, ect., do add fuel for the fire. But instead of relying upon a set of ways or instructions, we should make our own ways of completing the task at hand.
Like raising a child, no parent has a set of rules or guide lines on how to bring up a child, we teach them in our way, one time we might send them to bed the next we might rely upon stronger discipline methods.
Scientist might argue about the chemical properties, which oil is better for that occasion.
However if we feel like adding dirt to water to cleans it, so be it. After all water was and still is purified by mother earth.
Blessed be
